The Women’s Medical Respite is working 24/7 to help homeless or housing insecure women from the Ozarks who need a safe, clean environment to recover from a medical event. Once women are cleared to be discharged from the hospital, they are told to rest, take time to recover, and attend follow up appointments. This is not possible for women without safe housing and transportation.

A local shelter would give you a safe place to sleep, but will require you to leave every morning at 7.

• Where will you lie down during the day when you need to rest?
• How will you follow through with medications and make it to follow-up appointments?
• How can you find nutritious food?
• How will the summer heat or the winter cold affect your recovery? ​

Women’s Medical Respite aims to bridge the gap of these specific needs for women who are recovering from a medical event.
